How to get a CSR?

Simply said, a CSR (Certificate Signing Request) is just a collection of information which is needed for a CA (Certificate Authority) to generate a new private key and certificate which is required to enable SSL in TrendMiner.

The procedure to generate a CSR differs for the different TrendMiner deployment options.

For SaaS installations

For SaaS installations TrendMiner manages the certificates and security in general. No input is required from customers.

For single node installations

Since the server is managed by your own IT department a CSR can be generated directly on the server. But a CSR can also be generated outside of the TrendMiner server. Align with your IT department on the procedure to get a certificate.

For virtual appliances

Console access to virtual appliance installations is restricted. Align with your IT department on how to get a certificate. A certificate can be generated outside of the server (from a technical perspective it does not need to be generated on the server itself). If your IT department however requires that the CSR is generated on the TrendMiner server, please contact TrendMiner support .
