Virtual appliance deployment
TrendMiner can be deployed as a complete Virtual Appliance that can be imported in an existing virtualization environment. This is the preferred option for customers without deep Linux knowledge. Alternatively, TrendMiner can be installed on any CentOS 7 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 machine, including the images made available by most Cloud providers.
The TrendMiner Virtual Appliance is a complete virtual machine that contains the infrastructure to run TrendMiner. TrendMiner pre-configures the Virtual Appliance to conform to various industry standards related to security including:
Operating System patches are included with each TrendMiner update
A firewall is enabled to limit network access
SELinux is enabled in Enforcing mode
TrendMiner services run isolated in containers
TrendMiner has no extra requirements when installing on a customer-provided CentOS 7 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 system outside of the software that is available in the official operating system repositories.
The Virtual Appliance is provided as an OVA template or a VHD disk image:
trendminer-appliance.ova (VMware)
trendminer-appliance.vhd.zip (Hyper-V)
The TrendMiner software itself is a separate download:
trendminer-<version>.tar.gz
Required data for Virtual Appliance installs includes:
IP address and netmask
Network gateway
DNS servers
NTP servers
Mail relay
Gigabit Ethernet or better is required for TrendMiner to work.
