Mail Relay Setting

TrendMiner monitoring can alert users by email when one of their monitoring patterns detects a match.

On a TrendMiner Virtual Appliance, clicking ‘Email configuration’ under the ‘SETTINGS’ menu allows configuration of a mail relay to use when sending mail. TrendMiner expects that this mail relay listens on port 25.

This option is available on non-Virtual Appliances as well. Do not use this when mail infrastructure on Linux servers is already managed by, e.g. a configuration management system. In that case, ensure that applications connecting to port 25 on localhost are able to send mails.

  1. Provide the mail relay server’s IP address and click ‘Save setting’. A green message at the top will say ‘Mail relay is saved’.

  2. This will trigger the ‘configure-smtp’ task under ‘Recent Actions’. Wait until the ‘configure-smtp’ task changes to the ‘SUCCESS’ status.

  3. To verify the email configuration, provide a valid email address in the ‘Test email recipient’ textbox and click 'Send test email'. A test email should be received at the given address.
