The TrendMiner Virtual Appliance provides a management interface. Operational concerns can be configured here.

Basic level monitoring is included in the Virtual Appliance. Mail alerts will be sent to a configurable mail address when the available disk space is less than 20% or when critical application components fail.

The Virtual Appliance has several outgoing connections.

  • DNS is required for name resolution of other services.

  • NTP is required to ensure TrendMiner requests the correct data.

  • SMTP is needed when the TrendMiner monitoring functionality is used with mail alerts.

  • LDAP is needed when external user management is available

An HTTP or HTTPS connection to Plant Integrations is needed. The port for this connection is configurable. Users and administrators only need HTTP or HTTPS access to the Virtual Appliance.
