Upgrade Center technical requirements
Manual upgrade: always available, no specific technical requirements.
Semi-automated upgrades: your TrendMiner (Linux) server needs to be able to connect to the TrendMiner file server (license.trendminer.cloud) over https (port 443) to be able to retrieve upgrade information.
The firewall should allow an outgoing connection to:
13.248.161.236:443 3.33.158.180:443
Fully automated upgrades: the same technical requirements as the semi-automated upgrades plus your TrendMiner (Linux) server needs to be able to connect to the TrendMiner cloud server (download.license.trendminer.cloud) over https (port 443) to be able to retrieve the upgrade package.
TrendMiner uses AWS CloudFront for downloading the upgrade package which implies that outgoing connections to all CloudFront IPs should be allowed.
Please note that CloudFront IPs change from time to time. A full list of IPs can be found in the Amazon docs and it is possible to subscribe to be informed when the IPs are updated. This and other related information can be found here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonCloudFront/latest/DeveloperGuide/LocationsOfEdgeServers.html
Tip
Considering the complexity of the rotating IPs TrendMiner advises to allow all outgoing connections from the TrendMiner Linux appliance server.
If TrendMiner is deployed as a virtual appliance the firewall is controlled by TrendMiner and all outgoing connections from the TrendMiner server are allowed. See this documentation to check if TrendMiner is deployed as a virtual appliance: How to check if TrendMiner is deployed as a virtual appliance?
If TrendMiner is deployed as a single node the firewall can be configured as documented here: Outgoing Network configuration.
Alternatively a proxy can be configured as documented here: Enable Proxy support
