TrendMiner upgrade
This page allows the initiation of a TrendMiner upgrade. Always make sure to consult the upgrade requirements and upgrade steps from the documentation before starting an upgrade.
The checkbox "Take backup before upgrade" can be disabled if a backup is already created manually. The advantages of creating a backup manually upfront are:
Less downtime since the manual backup creation can be done while TrendMiner is up and running while an automated backup during an upgrade is done when services are already shut down.
Option to download the backup before starting the upgrade to even further minimise data loss risks.
During an upgrade the following steps will take place:
The tar.gz file will be uploaded to the server. Since these upgrade packages are quite big this can take a while depending on your network speed. Please be patient and do not refresh the page to not interrupt the upload.
The tar.gz archive will be unpacked on the server. This step is invisible in the UI.
The upgrade scripts will start running. At this point several new actions will show up on the right side in the 'recent actions'.
Only when all 'pending' and 'running' actions are processed from the recent actions queue an upgrade can be considered successful or failed.
During an upgrade Edge Manager, ConfigHub and other services will restart and can become unresponsive or show errors. This is expected. Please be patient and check the upgrade notes for version specific upgrade info. Try reloading Edge Manager regularly to check if it has been upgraded. If Edge Manager remains unresponsive after 15-30 minutes TrendMiner support can be contacted for advise.
