Managing IIS logs on connector server
Notice
Information on this page only applies to the WebHost version of the TrendMiner connector, not to the AppHost version. More info on WebHost vs. AppHost can be found here.
The TrendMiner connector (a.k.a. Plant Integrations server) runs on IIS. It is known that IIS logs can grow fast and might need management from customer side.
Each website generates a log folder 'W3SVCX' where X is the ID of the website, so typically/by default you will see the logs from the connector website showing up in folders C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\W3SVC1, C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\W3SVC2, etc. ...
As this is Microsoft specific TrendMiner can only refer to the Microsoft documentation for best practices on how to manage IIS logs:
It is advised to keep the last 10 days of logfiles in case IIS logs are required by TrendMiner support for troubleshooting.
