Linux Deployment
TrendMiner can be installed on Alma Linux 9 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Other distributions based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 might work but are not officially supported.
Requirements for a successful TrendMiner deployment and future upgrades:
TrendMiner's system requirements are met
Root permissions for installations and upgrades
A correctly configured /mnt/data mount for storage of TrendMiner data
Access to the official operating system repositories.
Install Ansible
Proper network configuration (IP address, DNS server, ...)
No other software should be installed on the server to avoid interference with TrendMiner. No virus scanners should run on the server.
No proxies or load balancers intercepting the internal (within server or VM) and external (to the internet or other servers on the network) TrendMiner network calls.
These requirements are further elaborated in this documentation.
Note
TrendMiner currently does not support deploying a virtual disk (.ova or .vhd) in a private cloud.
E.g. Azure VM images and AWS AMI images require a specific format which are not supported by TrendMiner. While Azure VMs might be based off HyperV, it is not the same hypervisor and there are differences. The images are not compatible and TrendMiner cannot guarantee this works or keeps working. Every Linux distribution requires different manual preparation steps to convert HyperV images as can read in the Azure docs: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/linux/imaging
