Expanded architecture with 1 central site and 1 remote site
Scenario 2 covers the expanded architecture with 1 central site and 1 remote site. Time-series data is collected from a local historian, Historian A, and a historian at a remote site, Historian B.
Notice
An additional Plant Integrations server can be configured on the remote site to overcome possible network latency between the main site and the remote site. However, this is not strictly required . This new Plant Integrations server can be set up as a new Connector.
It can also be set up as a PI-to-PI connection, to do so, choose “TM Connector” as the provider in the data sources menu of ConfigHub.
On the TrendMiner side, access to the data sources can be granted to users (local users, LDAP users or SAML users) and groups (groups can contain local users, LDAP users or SAML users).
In the example architecture below User A and Group A have access only to the data from Historian A (Tags A). User B and Group B have access only to the data from Plant B (Tags B). But central group User AB has access to both data sets (Tags A and Tags B).
