Introduction
These guidelines provide a full overview of the requirements and steps for a successful self-service installation and configuration of TrendMiner. All installation files can be downloaded from the TrendMiner download portal. To access this portal you need a login which you can get via your TrendMiner contact.
TrendMiner can be deployed in different ways. The first option is to run TrendMiner as a service. In this scenario, TrendMiner will run, maintain and update the platform as a SaaS instance. This is the preferred, future-proof deployment model. In the SaaS scenario, our teams will take care of the installation and reach out to discuss configuration and connectivity.
If you prefer to run TrendMiner as a self-hosted option, there are a few different possibilities:
TrendMiner offers a complete pre-packaged Virtual Appliance that can be imported in an existing virtualization environment. This is the preferred option for customers without deep Linux knowledge.
Alternatively, TrendMiner can be installed on any CentOS 7 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 machine (self-managed Linux deployment, also known as a single node deployment).
A self-managed private cloud deployment based on a base CentOS7 or Red Hat image is also possible.
Finally, TrendMiner can be directly acquired from a hyperscaler's marketplace.
Installation instructions for these self-hosted options are available in the following sections.
Attention
This documentation walks you through the steps required to set up a fully functioning TrendMiner environment. For self-hosted options, more initial configuration is needed and more maintenance will be required, such as certificate management, etc. Additional input may be required from your organization's IT department, so it is advised to plan ahead accordingly.
TrendMiner will support issues, but will always point back to this documentation if steps were skipped or requirements are not met. If so desired, TrendMiner can also help with more hands-on support. Reach out to your contact to discuss pricing.
